100-Percent-Plant-Based Bottles Bringing Green Back To Water Bottle Market

By Andy Torrez | GreenTech TV

You’ve seen the ads about plastic bottles causing harm to the environment.  You’ve read the stories about the dangers of chemicals used to make these hated plastic bottles.

Green Planet is bringing green back to the water-bottle industry.  Earlier this month, the company started distributing its 100-percent plant-based bottles.

Currently, Green Planet offers 16.9 oz. bottles.  Starting this spring, the company will distribute one liter and 12 oz. bottles as well.

According to Green Planet, the bottles are toxin free and will not leach chemicals into the contents of the bottles.  The company also states that its bottles are compostable in 80 days.

Last year, more and more studies showed the harmful affects of toxins that leach into water from plastic bottles.  These toxins have lead to health problems such as reproductive issues and cancer.

“We’re increasingly hearing about the dangers of petroleum-based bottles, and Green Planet is leading the industry in responding with our 100-percent plant-based compostable and recyclable bottle,” said Bradford Schulman, founder of Green Planet.
