Renewable fuels provider New Generation Biofuels Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: NGBF), today announced that it successfully burned its biofuel at Washington College of Chestertown, MD. The purpose of the burn was to provide first hand data and practical information to WashingtonCollege about a biofuel that would help the College meet its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.

Air Products (NYSE: APD), the leading global hydrogen provider, today announced it has signed a long-term agreement to supply hydrogen to Shell for one of the new units at its refinery complex near Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Air Products will supply Shell the hydrogen via pipeline and add an over six-mile extension to its existing over 80 mile pipeline system. The supply is due to be on-stream in 2011.

Abengoa Solar today announced the signing of a power purchase agreement with PG&E for a major new solar plant 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles near Harper Dry Lake, in an area historically farmed for alfalfa. The 250-megawatt concentrating solar project will provide electricity for 90,000 homes and bring 1,200 green construction jobs to the area.
